General Information
Term adult ellipsoid body-dorsal gall surround neuron ID (Ontology) FBbt:00049180 (Fly Anatomy)
Definition Neuron that receives input in a wedge (slice) of the ellipsoid body, spanning its full anterior-posterior depth (Wolff et al., 2015). It has within-type synapsing in a poorly-defined region surrounding the dorsal gall (Wolff et al., 2015; Hulse et al., 2021). It receives input from several types of ring neuron (Hulse et al., 2021).[ FlyBase:FBrf0227801 FlyBase:FBrf0254510 ]
Also Known As "EB-LAL neuron" ; "EBGAs" ; "EBw.AMP.s-Dga-s.b cell" (for all, see Synonyms field below)
Comment Rare variants of this cell type may additionally target the protocerebral bridge or separate regions of the ellipsoid body (Wolff et al., 2015).
