Term adult lateral horn AV1a3 neuron ID (Ontology) FBbt:00049333 (Fly Anatomy)
Definition Adult lateral horn output neuron of the AV1a3 group that fasciculates with the AV1 primary neurite tract (Frechter et al., 2019; Dolan et al., 2019). It is a secondary neuron that is part of the BLVp1 (VLPl&p2) lateral hemilineage (Schlegel et al., 2021). There are around 3-6 of these neurons per hemisphere and they are cholinergic and GABAergic (Dolan et al., 2019; Schlegel et al., 2021).[ FlyBase:FBrf0242477 FlyBase:FBrf0242628 FlyBase:FBrf0246460 FlyBase:FBrf0249560 ]

Comment Assigned to BLVp2 (VLPl&p1) anterior hemilineage in Bates et al. (2020), updated to VLPl&p2 (BLVp1) lateral hemilineage in Schlegel et al. (2021). Dolan et al. (2019) find both neurotransmitters by antibody staining, Schlegel et al. (2021) only predict cholinergic. Cell type found in both hemibrain and FAFB (Schlegel et al., 2021).
