ID (Ontology) |
FBbt:00049945 (Fly Anatomy) |
| Definition |
Adult sex peptide sensory neuron with its cell body on the uterus (Hasemeyer et al., 2009; Yang et al., 2009). There are three of these cells on each side of the uterus (Hasemeyer et al., 2009; Yang et al., 2009). Their axons project to the abdominal ganglion (Yang et al., 2009). In addition to the sex peptide receptor (SPR), they also express the sugar receptor Gr43a, allowing them to detect fructose in the seminal fluid (Miyamoto and Amrein, 2014).[ FlyBase:FBrf0207501 FlyBase:FBrf0207523 FlyBase:FBrf0224445 ] |
