| Term |
adult protocerebral bridge 1-9 neuron |
ID (Ontology) |
FBbt:00051233 (Fly Anatomy) |
| Definition |
Neuron with extensive innervation of the brain that has a sinuous arbor of variable density that courses through all glomeruli of the protocerebral bridge (PB) (Wolff and Rubin, 2018). It has its cell body in the subesophageal zone (Kandimalla et al., 2023). There is heterogeneity in the brain regions innervated and whether PB innervation is unilateral or bilateral (Wolff and Rubin, 2018). At least one subtype is octopaminergic (Busch et al., 2009; Wolff and Rubin, 2018).[ FlyBase:FBrf0207458 FlyBase:FBrf0240744 FlyBase:FBrf0257023 ] |
| Also Known As |
"P1-9" |
| Comment |
Name does not reflect full extent of neuron, but most of this neuron is not present in the hemibrain volume and it is not clear from Wolff and Rubin (2018) which regions are conserved between subtypes. May be renamed when better described in future. May only be one of these per hemisphere and may be identical to OA-AL2i1 (Kandimalla et al., 2023 - FBrf0257023). |
