| Definition |
Neuron that innervates the peritoneal sheath or oviduct with octopaminergic type II terminals (Middleton et al., 2006). It reaches the reproductive system via the abdominal nerve to the ovary (Middleton et al., 2006). Octopamine stimulates the rupture of the posterior follicle cells prior to ovulation (Deady et al., 2017). These neurons also modulate contractions of these regions and movement of eggs out of the ovary (Middleton et al., 2006).[ FlyBase:FBrf0193596 FlyBase:FBrf0237759 ] |

Octopaminergic type II boutons identified based on bouton morphology and Tdc2-GAL4 expression (Middleton et al., 2006). Not clear from Middleton et al. (2006) whether each cell innervates both regions or whether there are subpopulations. |
