| Definition |
Medulla tangential intrinsic neuron with its soma on the anterior ventral side of the medulla (Kind et al., 2021). It enters the medulla close to its soma, courses through layer M7, and makes elaborations in M6, with some small vertical processes reaching M3 and M4 (Kind et al., 2021). It receives input from several outer (R7 or R8) photoreceptors (Kind et al., 2021). There are approximately 50 of these cells per optic lobe (Kind et al., 2021).[ FlyBase:FBrf0252485 ] |
