Definition Neuropil glial cell of the adult that is derived from a larval glial cell (Kato et al., 2020). The larval astrocyte-like glia die during the pupal phase, while some of the ensheathing glia persist and divide to generate these cells (Kato et al., 2020). In the brain, these cells tend to occupy an anterior-inferior area (Kato et al., 2020).[ FlyBase:FBrf0245107 ]
