Definition Long dorsal neck muscle that passes below the pleural apodeme (apophysis) and has its posterior attachment slightly ventroanterior to TH1 (Gorko et al., 2024). It tapers to a tendon that attaches to the posterior head (Gorko et al., 2024). It is innervated by the CvNA2 motor neuron (Gorko et al., 2024).[ FlyBase:FBrf0259326 ]

Comment Based on length, position and proximity of anterior end to muscle 20 (OH muscles), TH1 and TH2 probably correspond to muscle 23 in Miller (1950) - FBrf0186027.
