General Information
Term adult oblique horizontal neck muscle 3 ID (Ontology) FBbt:00053183 (Fly Anatomy)
Definition Short dorsal neck muscle that attaches at the midline to the pronotal apodeme and extends anterolaterally (Gorko et al., 2024). It attaches via small tendon tendrils to the large tendon of the transverse horizontal muscles (Gorko et al., 2024). It is innervated by the VCvN and CvN2 motor neurons (Gorko et al., 2024). It is found anterior to the other oblique horizontal muscles (Gorko et al., 2024).[ FlyBase:FBrf0259326 ]
Also Known As "OH3 muscle"
Comment Based on dorsomedial attachment and proximity of lateral end to muscle 23 (TH muscles), OH1-3 probably correspond to muscle 20 in Miller (1950) - FBrf0186027.
