| Definition |
Ventral neck muscle that connects the lower margin of the cervical apodeme to the lateral margin of the prothoracic sternal apodeme (Strausfeld et al., 1987; Gorko et al., 2024). It is oriented dorsoventrally, so that its contraction lowers the cervical sclerite and the ipsilateral side of the head (Strausfeld et al., 1987). It is innervated by the DProN3 motor neuron (Gorko et al., 2024). There are two of these muscles on each side (Strausfeld et al., 1987; Gorko et al., 2024).[ FlyBase:FBrf0259326 ] |
