Definition Structure of the adult mushroom body calyx formed by one or more Kenyon cell dendritic claws wrapping around a projection neuron axonal bouton (Leiss et al., 2009). Other extrinsic neurons may also contribute to the structure, but it is not wrapped by glial processes (Leiss et al., 2009). There are around 1500 microglomeruli per calyx (Leiss et al., 2009).[ FlyBase:FBrf0209199 ]
