| Definition | Transmedullary neuron that receives most of its input in around 5 columns of medulla layers M4, M6 and M7-M8, where it also has a small number of presynapses in each innervation region (Nern et al., 2025). It crosses the second optic chiasm and has mixed pre- and post-synapses in around 3 columns of lobula layers 5A-5B (Nern et al., 2025). Its predicted neurotransmitter is acetylcholine (Nern et al., 2025). There are around 200 of these cells per hemisphere (Nern et al., 2025).[ FlyBase:FBrf0262545 ] | ||
