Definition Lobula plate intrinsic neuron that receives input mainly in layer 1 and sends output mainly to layer 4 (Nern et al., 2025). It has distinct input and output branches (Dorkenwald et al., 2024; Schlegel et al., 2024; Nern et al., 2025). It is predicted to be GABAergic (Eckstein et al., 2024; Nern et al., 2025).
