| Definition | Lobula plate intrinsic neuron that spans around 30 columns of layer 2, with some extensions into layer 1 (Nern et al., 2025). It has a columnar morphology and pre- and post-synapses are mixed on the same processes (Dorkenwald et al., 2024; Schlegel et al., 2024; Nern et al., 2025). It is predicted to be glutamatergic (Eckstein et al., 2024; Nern et al., 2025).
