| Definition |
Sensory neuron with a soma flanking the posterior uterus and processes that arborize along the outer surface of the distal-most fibers of the muscle that encircles the uterus (Cury and Axel, 2023). It responds to the presence of an egg in the ovipositor and its activity extends burrowing behavior during egg laying (Cury and Axel, 2023). Its axon projects to the abdominal neuromere, where it has ventral arborizations (Cury and Axel, 2023). There are two of these cells on each side (Cury and Axel, 2023).[ FlyBase:FBrf0256706 ] |
