| Definition |
Muscle with its origin in the posterior wall of the head and an insertion site in the posterior cuticle of the rostrum, near the posterior end of the apodeme of the rostrum, similar to muscles 1 and 2 ventral (McKellar et al., 2020). As the three of these contract, they pull the rostrum back into the head cavity (McKellar et al., 2020).
