| Definition |
Adult leg muscle that extends along the tibia and attaches to the proximal tarsus, via the tarsal depressor tendon (Soler et al., 2004). It is composed of 20 to 33 fibers, with a markedly lower number of cells in the prothoracic leg than in the mesothoracic and metathoracic legs (Soler et al., 2004). It extends the tibia-tarsus joint, which raises the fly's body when standing (Azevedo et al., 2024).[ FlyBase:FBrf0180184 FlyBase:FBrf0186027 FlyBase:FBrf0259940 ] |
