|
| Term |
tarsal retro depressor muscle |
ID (Ontology) |
FBbt:00059105 (Fly Anatomy) |
| Definition |
Adult leg muscle with fibers that originate at the distal end of the tibial cuticle and attach to the tarsal depressor tendon in a position proximal their origin sites (Soler et al., 2004; Azevedo et al., 2024).[ FlyBase:FBrf0180184 FlyBase:FBrf0259940 ] |
| Also Known As |
"tarm" ; "tarsal reductor muscle" |
| Comment |
Soler et al. (2004) say that fibers of these muscles do not attach to a tendon, this is corrected in Azevedo et al. (2024), who show that they insert on the tarsus depressor tendon - hence rename to tarsus retro depressor muscle. |
