Term larval LT2/LT3 motor neuron ID (Ontology) FBbt:00110264 (Fly Anatomy)
Definition Larval motor neuron that develops from NB2-2 and innervates the lateral transverse muscles 2 and 3 via type Ib boutons (Landgraf et al., 1997; Schmid et al, 1999; Hoang and Chiba, 2001; Kim et al., 2009; Wang et al., 2022). It arborizes in the ipsilateral neuropil, and its axon fasciculates with the ipsilateral segmental nerve, innervating muscles of the same segment as its soma (Landgraf et al., 1997; Schmid et al, 1999; Hoang and Chiba, 2001; Kim et al., 2009).[ FlyBase:FBrf0099344 FlyBase:FBrf0112030 FlyBase:FBrf0132289 FlyBase:FBrf0209293 FlyBase:FBrf0253566 ]

Comment Identified only as LT2-innervating in Landgraf et al. (1997), subsequent studies find only one LT2 neuron other than the LT1 neuron, which also innervates LT3 and has similar (ipsilateral and SNa) morphology (Hoang and Chiba, 2001; Kim et al., 2009; Wang et al., 2022). (A different) Wang et al. (2022) - FBrf0254149 claim that the NB3-3 motor neuron innervates 23/24 (LT2/3) but do not show innervation.
