General Information
Term larval dopaminergic DL1 neuron ID (Ontology) FBbt:00110337 (Fly Anatomy)
Definition Dopaminergic neuron whose cell body is located in the dorsolateral protocerebrum of the larval brain, lateral and posterior to the DM neurons and anterior to the DL2 cluster (Monastirioti, 1999). It is part of the CP2/3 paired primary lineage (Hartenstein et al., 2017). Some of these neurons are not yet mature upon hatching, so the number of dopaminergic cells in this cluster increases from around 6-8 per hemisphere in the first instar, reaching around 9 at later larval stages (Hartenstein et al., 2017). Comment Dopaminergic cells were identified by double labeling with a tyrosine hydroxylase (anti-TH) antibody and a TH-GAL4 driver (FBtp0020119) (Selcho et al., 2009). Five known DL1 cell types (DAN-c1, DAN-d1, DAN-f1, DAN-g1, MBIN-e2) stated to belong to PPL1 cluster in Truman et al. (2023), as well as OAN-e1, MBIN-c1 and MBIN-c2, but unclear if these are dopaminergic.
