General Information
Term adult fruitless dPR1 neuron ID (Ontology) FBbt:00110856 (Fly Anatomy)
Definition Male-specific fruitless neuron with its soma in the anterior prothoracic neuromere (von Philipsborn et al., 2011). It innervates the wing neuropil bilaterally (von Philipsborn et al., 2011). It plays a role in male pulse song (von Philipsborn et al., 2011; Lillvis et al., 2024). There is one of these cells per hemisphere and it also expresses doublesex (von Philipsborn et al., 2011; Lillvis et al., 2024).
