General Information
Term adult fruitless vPR1 neuron ID (Ontology) FBbt:00110858 (Fly Anatomy)
Definition Adult fruitless neuron with its cell body located at the anterior of the prothoracic neuromere, close to the midline (Yu et al., 2010). It enters the anterior prothoracic neuromere and projects posteriorly forming arborizations in an 'A' shape extending into the mesothoracic neuromere bilaterally (Yu et al., 2010; Lillvis et al., 2024). A branch projects to the brain to form axonal arbors in the lateral protocerebral complex (Yu et al., 2010). There are approximately 16 of these cells per organism and they are cholinergic (Lillvis et al., 2024).[ FlyBase:FBrf0211884 FlyBase:FBrf0258823 ]
