Term medulla columnar neuron MC63 ID (Ontology) FBbt:00111769 (Fly Anatomy)
Definition A medulla columnar neuron whose cell body is located on the anterior surface of the medulla cell body rind (Vogt et al., 2016). Its dendritic arbors are mainly in medulla layer 8, spanning around 20 columns (Vogt et al., 2016). It projects to a small glomerulus in the lateral region of the optic glomeruli of the PVLP, posterior to LC16 (Panser et al., 2016). It also projects to the ventral accessory calyx (Vogt et al., 2016) via an optic lobe-calycal tract (Yagi et al., 2016).[ FlyBase:FBrf0232492 FlyBase:FBrf0232885 FlyBase:FBrf0233032 ]
