| Definition |
Mutation induced by the transposable activity caused by mariner, a DNA transposable element. The mariner element is 1.3 kilobases in length with 28 base pairs inverted terminal repeats. It specifically targets TA dinucleotides and generates a flanking duplication of these two bases upon insertion.
