General Information
Term modulatable fluorescent protein ID (Ontology) FBcv:0005015 (FlyBase CV)
Definition A fluorescent protein whose spectral properties are changeable, resulting from a reversible or irreversible change in fluorophore conformation. Changes in fluorophore conformation may occur either as a function of time (in the case of fluorescent timer proteins), or in response to an external trigger such as irradiation with a specific wavelength of light (in the case of photomodulatable fluorescent proteins).
