| Term |
RNA-guided ribonuclease |
ID (Ontology) |
FBcv:0007046 (FlyBase CV) |
| Definition |
An enzyme that catalyzes hydrolysis of RNA in a site-specific manner, and in which the specificity is determined by a guide RNA that contains sequence complementary to the target RNA sequence of interest, rather than being an inherent property of the ribonuclease itself. This property can be used to modify an organism's transcriptome in a defined manner.[ PubMed:30021724 PubMed:30388409 PubMed:31367845 ] |
