| Term |
small molecule-regulated RNA-guided nuclease |
ID (Ontology) |
FBcv:0009039 (FlyBase CV) |
| Definition |
An enzyme that catalyzes hydrolysis of DNA in a site-specific manner, where the specificity is determined by a guide RNA that contains sequence complementary to the DNA sequence of interest (rather than being an inherent property of the nuclease itself) and where the nuclease activity can be regulated by binding to a small molecule, such as an ion or ligand. |
