ID (Ontology) |

| Definition |
Dorsal band of adult oenocytes that extends from the spiracle to the heart (Miller, 1950). There is one of these on each side of each of abdominal segments 1-7 in females, but in males the A6 and A7 bands are merged into a single group (Miller, 1950). The band of abdominal segment 1 extends further after reaching the heart, whereas others terminate at the heart (Miller, 1950). Oenocytes at the lower end of the strand lie flat against the trachea, then the band extends backwards and upwards on the inner side of the fat body along the posterior edge of the tergite and outside the dorsal longitudinal muscles (Miller, 1950).[ FlyBase:FBrf0007735 ] |
