Definition Pharate adult from when the eye cup becomes yellow at its perimeter (Bainbridge and Bownes, 1981). The transparent pupal cuticle has separated from the underlying epidermis (Bainbridge and Bownes, 1981). Pale yellow pigmentation spreads across the eye and the eye becomes bright yellow (Bainbridge and Bownes, 1981). This stage ends when the eye starts to become amber (Bainbridge and Bownes, 1981).[ FlyBase:FBrf0036849 ]
