Term larval A03a5 neuron ID (Ontology) FBbt:00047800 (Fly Anatomy)
Definition Segmentally-repeated larval cholinergic premotor interneuron that develops from lineage 3. It is downstream of Wave neurons, which receive input from class IV dendritic arborizing neurons and upstream of motor neurons. They activate sequentially along the abdominal neuromeres during forward and backward peristaltic locomotion.[ FlyBase:FBrf0237618 ]
Comment Activation of these neurons results in abdominal muscle contraction and inhibition reduces backwards locomotion in response to mechanical stimulus to the head (Takagi et al., 2017).
