Definition Adult serotonergic sugar-SEL neuron that has an ascending projection to the pars intercerebralis via the median bundle (Yao and Scott, 2022). It also has mixed arborization in the dorsal subesophageal zone, close to the esophageal foramen, spanning the midline (Yao and Scott, 2022). There are two of these cells per hemisphere, with projections on different sides of the midline (Yao and Scott, 2022).[ FlyBase:FBrf0252961 ]
