Definition Adult prothoracic muscle that depresses (extends) the trochanter and has its origin outside of the coxa (Miller, 1950; Azevedo et al., 2024). There are two of these on each side, one that originates on the tergum and one that originates on the sternum (Azevedo et al., 2024).
