General Information
|
| Term |
larval LT1/LT2 motor neuron |
ID (Ontology) |
FBbt:00110261 (Fly Anatomy) |
| Definition |
Larval motor neuron that develops from NB2-2 and innervates the lateral transverse muscles 1 and 2 via type Ib boutons (Landgraf et al., 1997; Schmid et al, 1999; Hoang and Chiba, 2001; Kim et al., 2009). It has ipsilateral dendrites that extend anteriorly in the dorsolateral neuropil (Landgraf et al., 1997; Landgraf et al., 2003; Kim et al., 2009). Its axon fasciculates with the ipsilateral segmental nerve, innervating muscles of the same segment as its soma (Landgraf et al., 1997; Schmid et al, 1999; Hoang and Chiba, 2001; Kim et al., 2009).[ FlyBase:FBrf0099344 FlyBase:FBrf0112030 FlyBase:FBrf0132289 FlyBase:FBrf0167986 FlyBase:FBrf0209293 ] |
| Also Known As |
"MN-LT1" ; "MN21/22-Ib" |
| Comment |
Identified as LT1-innervating in Landgraf et al. (1997), subsequent studies find only one LT1 neuron, which also innervates LT2 and has similar (ipsilateral and SNa) morphology (Hoang and Chiba, 2001; Kim et al., 2009). |
