inner optic anlage lateral proliferation zone |
ID (Ontology) |
FBbt:00001954 (Fly Anatomy) |
| Definition |
Lateral zone of proliferating neuroblasts of the inner optic anlage (Hofbauer and Campos-Ortega, 1990). Neuroblasts segregate from the epithelium of the anlage from the beginning of the third larval instar, and are displaced distally towards the point of entry of the Bolwig nerve, later becoming separated into groups by newly formed fiber bundles (Hofbauer and Campos-Ortega, 1990). The medial part of the inner optic anlage contributes neuroblasts to this zone, itself remaining epithelial (Ngo et al., 2017). This proliferation zone produces two main populations of cells, a posterior group that moves into the concavity of the zone and a group that moves laterally (Hofbauer and Campos-Ortega, 1990; Ngo et al., 2017).[ FlyBase:FBrf0052913 FlyBase:FBrf0236058 ] |
