General Information
|
| Term |
neuroblast NB2-4 |
ID (Ontology) |
FBbt:00001411 (Fly Anatomy) |
| Definition |
Neuroblast that delaminates at S4 and generates a contralaterally projecting motorneuron and approximately 8 local interneurons (Schmid et al., 1999). In the embryo, one of these cells can be found in each hemisegment from T1-A8 (Birkholz et al., 2013; Urbach et al., 2016). In the larva, it resumes proliferation in T2-A1 (Lacin and Truman, 2016). The neurons that develop from this neuroblast after larval hatching form postembryonic lineage 18 (Lacin and Truman, 2016).[ FlyBase:FBrf0112030 FlyBase:FBrf0221210 FlyBase:FBrf0228122 FlyBase:FBrf0231327 FlyBase:FBrf0232096 ] |
| Also Known As |
"lineage 18 neuroblast" ; "lineage NB2-4 neuroblast" ; "NB 18" (for all, see Synonyms field below) |
| Comment |
Birkholz et al. (2015) suggest that NB2-4 generates postembryonic lineage 8 and NB3-4 generates postembryonic lineage 18, but Lacin and Truman (2016) provide lineage tracing and marker data showing that NB2-4 generates lineage 18. Lacin and Truman (2016) Fig1S1 shows postembryonic NB2-4 in T1, but text and Fig3 shows loss of NB2-4 in T1 in the late embryo. |
