Description

The extracellular domain of tor13D is fused to the intracellular region of sev. The expression of this chimera is driven by an Hsp70 promoter.

The tor region contains same amino acid replacement as in tor13D gain of function allele. Expression is under the influence of an Hsp70 promoter.

A heat pulse causes different responses in different ommatidial precursors, indicating that cells can only respond to sev activity during a brief period. R7 cells are rescued only in a narrow region.

Comments

Used to study effects of constitutive activation of sev using tor sequences from gain of function tor alleles.

Immunoprecipitation of protein lysates from flies expressing sev::tor13D.hs, indicates that Shc is not associated with sev::tor13D.hs protein in vivo.
