Description
The addition of the TIM21 and ROMO1 subunits to the TIM23 core complex gives rise to the TIM23 complex variant, TIM23[SORT]. TIM23[SORT] is required for the lateral insertion of protein precursors into the inner mitochondrial membrane (PMID:32074073).
