    Loss of both Taf10 and Taf10b genes results in a failure in the larval-pupal developmental transition: about half of the Df(2L)Taf10-25 mutants are not able to form pupa at all and the remaining form aberrant pupae. The morphology of the ring gland of the Df(2L)Taf10-25 mutants as well as the number of cells in it is comparable to wild-type.
