Dissociated ommatidia from flies carrying Arr2S366A in a Arr25 background show a minor flash-response deactivation defect in the presence of Ca[2+], a five-fold slower flash-response in solution with or without Ca[2+], and a 10-fold slower response deactivation in Ca[2+]-free solution.
Electroretinograms of flies carrying Arr2S366A in an Arr25 background have marked defects in inactivation kinetics.
