Contains a number of lesions compared to controls; an 11bp insertion (GTTTTTCTAAC) at the -534 to -524 position relative to the transcription start site, a nucleotide change (C2199A) in an 11bp sequence (2193-2203, CTAATTCGATT) that is conserved in several photoreceptor cell-specific genes, and a V303D amino acid replacement in the Gαq-1 protein isoform.
