Cg25CDTS-L11 heterozygotes show dominant semi-lethality at 29[o]C but are viable at 20[o]C. Homozygotes raised at 20[o]C are lethal.
Heterozygotes form rigid mitochondrial (MC) membranes and microsomal (MC) membranes at the restrictive temperature, 29oC. Normal ordering state of the membrane can be achieved by a temperature shift up, but not by a shift down to the permissive temperature. l(2)25Ca7 is less able to adjust MC and MS fatty acid composition in response to the growth temperature.
