Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

Arr210 mutants undergo light-dependant retinal degeneration.

Flies show complete retinal degeneration based on deep pseudopupil analysis after 3-4 days of light exposure. No significant degeneration is seen in the dark, even after several weeks of exposure. Electroretinograms of mutant flies have marked defects in inactivation kinetics.

Phenotypic Class
Phenotype Manifest In
Suppressed by
Statement
Reference

Arr210 has retina phenotype, suppressible by BacA\p35GMR.PH

NOT suppressed by
Statement
Reference

Arr210 has retina phenotype, non-suppressible by norpAEE5

Additional Comments
Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

The addition of norpA7 to Arr210 mutants has no effect on the retinal phenotype. The light-dependant retinal degeneration seen in Arr210 flies is completely rescued by BacA\p35GMR.PH.
