Reporter gene expression driven by the stumps dorsal mesoderm enhancer can be detected in a subset of the dorsal mesodermal cells that normally express stumps. Expression of the reporter can be detected in at least one of two stumpsFBtr0091350:pb-XReve co-expressing cell and occasionally, but not consistently in the other. Expression of the reporter is not detected in the ectodermally-derived tracheal pits that normally express stumps.
