      Larvae expressing ppk19DN.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu show defective salt-taste behaviour (a reduced preference for 10mM NaCl). Larvae expressing ppk19DN.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu show a normal preference for 500mM sucrose versus water in a taste assay. Adding 500mM NaCl to the 500mM sucrose results in an aversive behavioural response in wild-type larvae, but this response is blunted in larvae expressing ppk19DN.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu.
