UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a chimeric construct in which part of kek1 has been replaced with the corresponding region of kek2. The chimeric protein consists of the LRRs, Ig and juxta/transmembrane regions of kek1 and the cytoplasmic domain of kek2 and is tagged at the C-terminal end with GFP.
Expression of kek1::kek2LIT.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4CY2 results in eggs with strongly ventralised chorions. Expression of kek1::kek2LIT.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in a rough eye phenotype.
