UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of Hsap\BACE1.
Expression of Hsap\BACE1Scer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu leads to a significant decrease in lifespan and significant deterioration of climbing ability with age, as compared to controls.
Scer\GAL4elav-C155>Hsap\BACE1Scer\UAS.cLa flies show no significant difference in probability of survival compared to genetic controls. Scer\GAL4elav-C155>Hsap\BACE1Scer\UAS.cLa fly brains have similar size mushroom bodies as controls (significantly larger Kenyon cell area than is seen with expression of Hsap\BACE1Scer\UAS.cGa). Flies (2-10 and 12-20 days old) with expression of Hsap\BACE1Scer\UAS.cLa driven by Scer\GAL4elav-C155 show similar climbing ability to controls.
