Male Keap1EY1/+ flies show significantly increased survival rates after exposure to oxidative stress. Importantly, male Keap1EY1 heterozygotes also live significantly longer than their otherwise genetically identical siblings. Female Keap1EY1 heterozygotes do not show significant differences in either oxidative stress resistance or longevity.
