Detailed Description

Analysis of mouth hook morphology shows that homozygous Ccdc56D6 mutants take 10-12 days to reach the third instar larval stage, compared to 4-5 days in controls. The resulting third instar larvae are smaller than controls, remain at this stage for over 20 days, and die before pupariation.
