No visible phenotypes are seen in flies expressing Spn88EadsRNA.Scer\UAS.P\T under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI.
Flies expressing Spn88EadsRNA.Scer\UAS.P\T under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 eclose normally, but exhibit defects in the unfolding and expansion of their wings. The wings remain folded and hypotrophic throughout the adult life of the flies. Lifespan is also severely compromised, with all flies having died by 5 days after eclosion. Shortly after eclosion the unopened wings appear similar in size and shape to those of wild type flies. All veins, bristles and hairs appear to be present and normal.
