      PI4KIIIαC homozygous somatic clones in the larval brain frequently show variable numbers of type I and type II neuroblasts (absent or ectopic), show frequent defects in the normal asymmetric cell division (in metaphase, aPKC and Par6 fail to localize to a strong apical cortex crescent, whereas Mira and Numb fail to localize to a strong basal cortex crescent), and undergo mitosis less frequently, as compared to control clones.
